ACB TAKES ANTI-CORRUPTION CLINICS TO MWANZA AND KARONGA
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted Anti-Corruption Clinics in Mwanza (Senior Chief Nthache and Senior Chief Govati in T/A Kandulu) and Karonga (TA Kilipula and TA Karonga) Districts from 27th June to 9th July 2022. The activities were aimed at bringing ACB services to the masses. The officers involved were from all operations department i.e., public education, corruption prevention, investigation and prosecution.
During the first two weeks, the Public Education Department sensitized community members and stakeholders in the two districts on acts of corruption, adverse effects of corruption, how to report corruption and their respective roles in preventing and combatting corruption in Malawi according to NACS II. The sensitization used motivational talks, community awareness meetings, public forums, radio programs and sports bonanza.
Public Education and Corruption Prevention Sections were followed by teams of investigators to investigate alleged corruption issues that were reported by community members and stakeholders during sensitization activities.

Present at the sensitization activities were Report Centre officers who collected corruption complaints from community members right away. The Corruption Prevention Department was also present and conducted procurement reviews and inspection of projects at the district councils.
