ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU (ACB) COMMENCES WEEKLY PUBLICATION OF CLEARED MOTOR VEHICLES AND REAL-ESTATE PROPERTY

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) wishes to inform the general public that, following the re-introduction of the vetting process for change of ownership of motor vehicles and real-estate property, it has commenced the publication of weekly lists of cleared motor vehicles and real-estate property for change of ownership purposes with effect from 25th November, 2025.

The public can access details of weekly submissions for vetting by the relevant institutions, and the actual processed applications by the ACB on our official website https://acbmw.org/. The updates will also be shared on ACB’s Facebook page (Anti-Corruption Bureau Malawi – 18k followers).

This initiative is part of the ACB’s broader efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in the vetting process, and ensuring adherence to the four (4) working days timeline committed to by the Bureau. The publication is also intended to deter corruption and curb the activities of unscrupulous individuals who may seek to exploit the change of ownership process.

Properties whose vetting has been withheld will be excluded from the published lists. The ACB will request the relevant public institutions and concerned parties to provide necessary documentation to facilitate further action on these properties.

The general public is advised that clearance at the vetting stage does not preclude future action and the ACB reserves the right to investigate any cleared property should evidence or information emerge indicating a breach of the Corrupt Practices Act or any other applicable laws

The Anti-Corruption Bureau remains committed to promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability in all public service processes.
