Please note that the case was in court today for sentencing of the three convicts namely
- Titani Kamtondo ( ADO Liwonde ADD)
- Enifa Stefano Phiri (Chair of VDC)
- Chasi Mloza ( Farmer and businessman)
COUNTS
1- Section 24 (1) Corrupt Practices Act, custodial sentence of eighteen (18) months without HL
2- Section 25B (1) Corrupt Practices Act, custodial sentence of eighteen (18) months without HL
3- Section 26 (1) Corrupt Practices Act, custodial sentence of eighteen (18) months without HL
4- Section 278 Penal Code theft, custodial sentence of four (4) months without HL
The sentences are to run concurrently with effect from the date of sentencing, 23rd September, 2022.
