On 7th October 2024, the Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Magistrate Philip Chibwana and Mr. Feston Chauma, a Court Clerk at Balaka Magistrate’s Court for soliciting andreceiving Mk300,000.00 to facilitate a suspect’s release on bail.Feston Chauma and Magistrate Philip Chibwana will be charged with corruptly soliciting and corruptly receiving money, and misuse of public office.
