ACB ARRESTS MR HUMPHREY MDYETSENI, FORMER CEO FOR NEEF, FOR ABUSE OF OFFICE

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has, on 1st April 2026, arrested Mr. Humphrey Mdyetseni, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF). He has been arrested for alleged misuse of public office under the Corrupt Practices Act and neglect of official duty under the Penal Code. The charges relate to decisions and actions taken during his time as CEO.

Mr. Mdyetseni is currently in police custody. He will be recorded a caution statement before he is taken to court on 2nd April 2026.

The ACB remains committed to promoting accountability in the use of public resources and will continue to take action against anyone involved in corruption according to the law.
