On 14th April 2025, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Private Practice Lawyer Bob Chimkango for abuse of office at Malawi Housing Corporation where he was the Director of Administration and Corporate Affairs.
Investigation conducted by ACB established that in 2019, Bob Chimkango, abused his public office by obtaining from Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) fuel and subsistence allowances amounting to K7,430,820.00 for attending High Court Constitutional Reference case No. 1 of 2019 in Lilongwe. The case was unrelated to Malawi Housing Corporation’s interests.
He will be taken to court where he will be charged with abuse of Public Office, contrary to Section 25B (1) as read with Section 34 of the Corrupt Practices Act.
