ACB RESTRICTS MINISTRY OF HEALTH FROM DEALING WITH CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTING AND DRILLING BOREHOLES

Pursuant to its powers under Section 23 (1) of the Corrupt Practices Act, on 3rd October, 2022, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) issued a restriction notice to
Ministry of Health from dealing with the contract pertaining to the construction and drilling of boreholes.

The Restriction Notice has been issued as part of investigations by the Bureau
following allegations that the Ministry of Health was intending to award a contract to construct and drill boreholes 125 Boreholes in North Zone, Central-East Zone and Central-West Zone to Pyramid Civil Engineering and Mathews Boreholes though they do not have the capacity to do the work.

Following the restriction notice, the Ministry of Health is restricted from dealing with the contract until the ACB has concluded the investigations or lifted the restriction notice.
