On 14th January 2022, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) took Mr. Godfrey Itaye and Mr.
Henry Macheso to court where they were charged and granted bail follows:
Mr. Itaye was charged with abuse of office, failure to declare interest and neglect of official
duty contrary to Section 25 B (1) and 25 (D) of the Corrupt Practices Act and Section 121 of
the Penal Code, respectively. Mr. Henry Macheso was charged with abuse of office contrary
to Section 25 B (1) of the Corrupt Practices Act. They have both pleaded not guilty to the
charges.
They were granted bail after satisfying the following conditions:
i) Produced K150,000.00 cash each as bail bond
ii) Produced one surety each bonded at K700,000.00 not cash
iii) Surrendered travel documents
iv) Ordered to report at ACB offices once every fortnight on Fridays
They will appear in Court on a date to be set by the Court.
